Absolut Vodka

Our Roles

Description

Phimona was tasked with driving sales of Absolut Vodka in Tanzania through a summer campaign focused on cocktails. To make Absolut Vodka the go-to brand for cocktail drinking in the market, both in bars and for home consumption, we enlisted the help of mixologists and bartenders in Dar es Salaam to create a range of delicious Absolut Vodka cocktails, including Absolut Cranberry, Absolut Vodka Tonic, and Absolut Mango Crush. We then used paid adverts on the Absolut Vodka Tanzania Facebook and Instagram page to promote the cocktails and share how-to videos with our followers. The content reached over 200,000 users, with over 2000 people engaging with it on Instagram and Facebook. Our campaign was a success, driving sales of Absolut Vodka and positioning it as the go-to brand for cocktail drinking in Tanzania.

Description

The objective of the campaign was to open up the Scotch whisky category to new audiences in Tanzania and cement Ballantine's position as the accessible choice for everyone.

To achieve this goal, the brand launched a comprehensive campaign titled "Stay True: There's No Wrong Way," which included paid advertising on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, as well as experiential activations in bars across Tanzania. The campaign encouraged consumers to stay true to themselves and live life on their own terms, in line with the brand's DNA of self-expression.

The campaign was a resounding success, generating over 2 million impressions through paid adverts and reaching over 5,000 consumers through product sampling at bars. In addition, the campaign resulted in the sale of 1,000 9-liter cases of Ballantine's Scotch whisky. By introducing the brand to new audiences through a combination of paid advertising and experiential activations, Ballantine's was able to drive strong engagement and sales in Tanzania. The success of the "Stay True: There's No Wrong Way" campaign demonstrates the effectiveness of a well-executed marketing strategy in building brand loyalty and driving business growth.

Jameson Irish Whiskey

Jameson Connects Tanzania

Our Roles

Description

Phimona was tasked with launching Jameson Irish Whiskey in Tanzania and developed a 360-degree campaign to make a splash. Through a series of small activations and a strong influencer outreach program, we connected Jameson to the alternative scene and invested in paid digital adverts to drive event awareness. Our efforts paid off, with 1000 attendees at the main Jameson Connects Tanzania event and over 300 bottles of whiskey sold. The event also received coverage in well-known digital news channels and news channels. Additionally, our paid adverts reached 100,000 Facebook, Instagram, and Google users with engagement from over 5000 people through likes, comments, and reshares. Overall, the Jameson launch in Tanzania was a success thanks to Phimona's strategic and impactful marketing efforts.

Rural Energy Agency (REA)

Description

In order to increase understanding and use of modern energy services in rural communities, an awareness campaign was launched.

As part of the awareness campaign, a comprehensive plan was developed to reach as many members of the targeted rural communities as possible. This included creating educational and informative content for television and radio, which were broadcast on local stations in order to reach a wide audience. In addition to these mass media efforts, the campaign also included organizing and conducting road shows, which involved traveling to various villages and towns in the area to directly engage with members of the community and provide them with information about modern energy services. As part of the road shows, campaign staff would set up informational booths, give presentations, and answer questions from community members.

In addition to the television and radio broadcasts and road shows, the campaign also included the design and printing of brochures and flyers, which were distributed to community members through a variety of channels. These materials provided detailed information about modern energy services and how to access them, in a format that was easy to read and understand. The campaign team also worked to brand vehicles with campaign messaging, in order to further increase visibility and reach for the campaign.

Overall, the goal of these efforts was to raise awareness and understanding of modern energy options among rural communities, and to encourage greater adoption of these services.

Description

Tanzania Global Learning Agency (TaGLA) is a Government Executive Agency that is responsible for capacity building under the President’s Office Public Service Management (PO-PSM).

As the appointed advertising agency, we handled all of their marketing, communication and event management assignments throughout the contract period. We did everything from conceptualizing, designing & implementing marketing campaigns, TV & radio advertising, social media marketing, organizing and managing events, and designing and printing of promotional materials.

TALA

Tala Rafiki Wa Faida

Our Roles

Description

Phimona was tasked with introducing TALA as the first choice loan solution to consumers in Tanzania. To build trust and create a true friendship between TALA and its customers, we conceptualized a campaign called #TalaRafikiWaFaida and #JikwamueNaTala. We developed creative materials that introduced and positioned TALA as the top loan solution, and partnered with Idris Sultan, a well-known comedian and social media influencer, to create video content that showed him using TALA to get quick loans in tough situations. We also created a TVC advert and a RADIO Ad that were broadcasted across radio and TV.

The campaign was a success, resulting in over 40,000 TALA mobile app downloads within three months. By building trust and positioning TALA as the first choice loan solution, we helped the company stand out in the crowded financial market.

Tanzania Diabetes Association (TDA)

Description

The Tanzania Diabetes Association (TDA) is an organization that is working to prevent and manage diabetes and other non-communicable diseases (NCDs), as well as the risk factors associated with these conditions. These diseases are chronic health conditions that are not transmitted from person to person, and include conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and chronic respiratory diseases. The TDA is implementing projects that aim to address these issues in Tanzania.

As part of this work, Phimona has produced and aired radio ads, and has designed and printed education materials such as posters, brochures/fliers, and roll-up banners. These materials are being used to educate people about diabetes prevention and management, and to promote healthy behaviors.

Temisite App

Overview

Phimona Ltd, the developer of Temisite App, was among 11 winners of the USAID's Powering a Just Energy Transition Green Minerals Challenge (JET Minerals Challenge). The JET Minerals Challenge is the first activity under the Countering Transnational Corruption Grand Challenge for Development (CTC Grand Challenge).

The Temisite App is a pioneering digital platform aimed at transforming mineral trading for small-scale miners in Tanzania. The app is built to streamline mineral trade by providing small-scale miners with a transparent, efficient, and secure marketplace for auctioning minerals. Through direct buyer access and real-time market data, Temisite enhances economic opportunities while promoting industry accountability.

Zoom Tanzania is a trusted marketplace to buy and sell goods and services in Tanzania.

Our role was conceptualizing, designing & implementing a marketing campaign including TV & Radio production and airing of adverts and Direct Sales. In the direct sales we organized, trained and deployed a group of sales commission agents to introduce Zoom Tanzania to traders and educate them how to post their products and services in Zoom Tanzania platform.
